V-type control ball valves are commonly used with media such as pulp and fibers. Their precision of control is likely lower than that of straight-stroke control valves, but their advantage is that they can shear some viscous media, reducing the risk of clogging.
The accuracy isn’t high, but there’s no risk of leakage, and it doesn’t mind the presence of solid particles
