My registered professional certificate for chemical engineering was issued in 2013, and it is said that continuing education and renewal are required every three years. May I ask where I can pursue this continuing education? There’s another question: I’m currently unemployed. Is it necessary to obtain a certificate in order to get an employment contract and social insurance, so as to be able to extend my stay?

I’ve seen people ask this question on Haichuan and other websites before, but there were never any complete and clear answers. This time, I’ll provide a full solution myself. I called the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development for clarification; the blue booklet obtained through the exam is valid for life. However, if it has not been registered over time, a certificate of continuing education must be provided after 3 years in order to register. For those who have already registered and obtained a yellow booklet, that booklet is valid for 3 years and needs to be renewed every 3 years. In other words, it is the yellow booklet that is used for extending registration! According to official documents, to renew registration, it is necessary to provide a labor contract, proof of the company’s qualifications, certificates of continuing education, and so on. Since a continuing education program for certified accountants has not yet been established, only other relevant documents need to be submitted. In short, as there is no continuing education requirement for certified accountants at present, the sections related to continuing education in the regulations concerning registration, changes, and renewal for such professionals can be ignored
