Is the rise in hot air temperature exceeding the theoretical value?

Recently, experts came to inspect our heating furnace and said that in the air preheater used for recovering waste heat from the flue gas of our furnace, the temperature drop on the flue gas side is less than 100 degrees, while the temperature rise on the air side reaches 150 degrees; the temperature increase of the hot air exceeds the theoretical value. How should this be understood?
Should we try measuring a few more points? First, rule out faults in the instrument itself, and then investigate factors such as process issues and whether the installation location is appropriate.
The cause of the instrument malfunction has been resolved; it’s hard to say whether the installation location is appropriate or not – the temperature measured with a thermometer at the same point is roughly the same as the temperature indicated by the thermocouple
