This is just an individual opinion; the exact situation is not clear, so it’s impossible to draw any conclusions rashly. However, at any time, in the construction of the petrochemical industry and other heavy industrial enterprises related to critical national security, the rationality of survey and design is undoubtedly of primary importance in ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property. It is believed that after this, actions will be taken at the **level, and this could mark a turning point for the standards in the survey and design industry, as well as for those working in related fields related to safety. The survey and design work carried out by such companies is generally in compliance with standards; this accident was likely due to management issues. In fact, almost all major accidents in China over the past few years have been caused by management problems – there are rules and safety protocols that are not followed, or not enforced properly, or only selectively applied. That’s the real issue.
From a purely design perspective, there should be no major issues; otherwise, the construction drawings wouldn’t pass the review. However, it’s possible that the company didn’t construct according to the drawings, and problems may arise in management and operation as well. But for our survey and design industry, reasonable and standardized design is a bottom line that must be adhered to. Prayers for the victim!

For example, in both piping and process engineering, the Certified Chemical Engineer exam is taken; it’s clear that the current exam questions are more related to process aspects, as these are encountered more often in work. Piping work, on the other hand, involves less emphasis on process calculations. Using the same exam questions for different specialties is somewhat one-size-fits-all and simplifies the issues too much.
