Our company has switched to the national standard 30871 work order, but who should sign as the responsible person on it? Various departments in our company discussed the matter, and there were differing opinions. For something like a permit for safe work in confined spaces, who signs it on the applicant’s side? Can it be the person in charge of the organization? Who will sign off on carrying out safety education? Which department is the approving authority? Which department signs off on the completion inspection?
There is also a hot work safety permit, covering the applicant, the person in charge of the hot work, the person performing the hot work, the analyst, the person who prepares the document, the person who conducts the initial review, the person responsible for safety training, the applying organization, the person who approves the hot work, and the person who carries out the completion inspection.
