Today I came across a rather sensational news story: a certain celebrity used a private event to pay tribute to a host who had helped her in the past. There was a sentence in the report that said, “Youth is not meant for reminiscing.” Indeed, what’s most common online is the idea that youth should be spent recklessly. It seems many people agree with this view, which leads to all kinds of extravagant and surprising acts of recklessness. When one is no longer young, they reflect on those years of reckless spending and silence… (Here, “reckless” is a neutral term that can also mean “willful”). They realize that youth can indeed be remembered, but not during one’s youthful years. Master Ma is now reflecting on the difficulties he faced when starting his business; yet when he was young, he had some truly extraordinary dreams and worked hard to make them come true. There’s a saying in YaYa’s version: “Strive your whole life for the promises you made back then.” YaYa is a foreign language; I’m not sure if this translation is correct. Anyway, I think what YaYa said makes a lot of sense. It’s said that the domestic version will organize an event similar to that song and those people from those days. I wish such an event every success in advance!
