During the startup of the continuous reforming unit, the fractionation system is lubricated; under conventional procedures, pre-hydrogenated refined oil is used for this purpose. I wonder if there are any plants that have started operating with blended benzene (reformed oil)? What is the difference between starting up the refined oil padding unit and starting up the mixed benzene padding unit? I would like to ask the experts here for some explanations.
The normal requirement is to use refined oil for padding the tower, but reformed oil can also be used with no impact; after all, during the initial operation phase, the refined oil that is circulated is also reformed oil of substandard quality.
It doesn’t seem to be the case; in my opinion, usually when driving for the first time, refined oil is used, rather than reprocessed oil – it’s refined oil that is purchased, either from local sources or from upstream suppliers.

In my opinion, even if reformate is used as a filler, it will not reduce the adjustment time required for the dewaxing tower at startup; once the refined oil, which does not react at first after being fed in, reaches the dewaxing tower, it will displace the reformate used as a filler. During the period when the water content in the recycle gas drops to 482°C, the output from the dewaxing tower will not meet the required standards. The only difference, I think, is that reformed oil has a wider distillation range compared to refined oil; this makes it easier to operate stably when full reflux is used in the pentane removal column.
