It depends on the settings of your DCS system; if it’s an important parameter, it can be set separately! The specific system settings vary!
1. What is the default time period for long-term trend recording? 2 days – does this two-day period correspond to 2,880 points? For trends over a longer period, it depends on how long you set it to be saved; a file is generated every 2880 points. If it’s a one-minute trend, then 2 days’ worth of data will be recorded, while for a one-second trend, a file is created every 48 minutes. 2. Why are the parameters with different IDs stored for different durations within the same HIS and the same historical station? If there is a long-term trend package, it will be saved for the duration you specify ; If not, save 2880 points; for a one-minute trend, this will cover 2 days of data, while for a one-second trend, one file will be created every 48 minutes. You can calculate the rest by yourself. 3. If you want to increase the number of days for storage, for example to 365 days, what kind of hardware upgrades are required? There are long-term storage packages; in theory, as long as the hard drive is large enough, data can be stored indefinitely. From our experience, if other workstations are also used as a reference, it is recommended not to store data for more than 3 months, otherwise performance will be affected.

This Yokogawa DCS has limitations on the number of sampling points per cycle; therefore, for large-scale projects, there may be a need for optimized allocation based on the process requirements. 3. If a long-term trend authorization is available, the number of days for which historical trends can be stored is determined by the capacity of your hard drive. If the hard drive is large enough, ten thousand years isn’t a problem at all.
