Our factory’s set of 40,000 air separation molecular sieve electric heaters consists of four units, with three in use and one as a spare. During operation, the power regulation unit of the second electric heater keeps shutting down; this has happened several times already. Upon opening it, it was found that more than a dozen of the tubes inside had burst; it is suspected that this was due to a quality issue with the tubes. The electric heating tubes were also replaced at that time, but they stopped working again after about a month. Regarding the quality issues with the pipes, we use those rated at 220 volts here. At first, there were continuous pipe ruptures during testing, but after switching to those from Jingjiang, such ruptures have basically stopped occurring. Later on, to save money, the boss replaced them with several units made by Wuwei. Good grief, those units didn’t scare people to death when they were used, but there wasn’t a single switching cycle without an issue – all 3 units ended up breaking!
Check if there is any problem with the inlet valve of the second heater Is the high resistance causing a low gas flow rate to the second heater?
Yes, it is recommended to consider from a process perspective whether there is a situation of low amount of regenerated gas and dry burning during the switchover.
