Last edited by 1025199692 on 2015-7-11 14:26. In a conversion system using cobalt-molybdenum sulfur-resistant conversion catalysts, what are the reasons for an increase in the resistance of the medium-pressure conversion process?
Measure the voltage drop segment by segment to determine which section has abnormal resistance. The increase in the resistance to sulfur-tolerant shift is mostly due to bed resistance.
1. Increase in catalyst bed resistance: Catalyst pulverization, process gas containing ash and water; 2. Are there ammonium carbonate crystals in the subsequent heat exchanger?
Could it be caused by oil in the feed gas?

It is generally caused by pulverization. For example, bringing water, etc. Another option is to use a method where the upper half is replaced, allowing the powder or oil brought in from upstream to undergo carbonization here
When catalyst ash comes into contact with water, caking occurs; check the water filling material, as well as areas related to air and water. It is only in severe cases that it is caused by pulverization.
Generally, it is the water that causes caking together with the catalyst; as for the source of this water, it needs to be analyzed in conjunction with the actual operating conditions.
