Economic downturn, poor performance in the industry; companies are laying off large numbers of employees – around 800 in total – and reducing salaries by 30%. Life is so difficult

What industry? What type? The silicone industry I’m in is doing okay; even in good times there aren’t many benefits, but this year it’s not too bad either.

It seems they’re all more or less the same. It’s not just the steel industry – even such a powerful company as Volkswagen is now offering discounts on its cars; P
