Selection of wastewater treatment processes for coating (pre-treatment)

According to available information, the typical treatment process for wastewater from painting (pre-treatment) operations is as follows: wastewater – homogenization tank – chemical treatment and sedimentation tank – air flotation – filtration – pH adjustment before discharge. Basically, it involves precipitation, followed by air flotation, and then some post-treatment. Why precipitate first and then float? Can we do flotation first and then sedimentation? Are there any other processes?
Precipitation first allows larger, heavier particles such as sand and gravel to settle, after which air flotation can be used, which helps reduce the pressure required for air flotation. Otherwise, could it float using air flotation? If the trachea gets blocked by accident, it will be even more troublesome.
