Where are expansion joints and bellows used? Are there any relevant standards?

It is mainly used in high-temperature, large-diameter, long-distance pipelines. It is used to prevent damage to the pipes caused by thermal expansion and contraction. It is divided into two cases: absorption and compensation.
It is mainly used in pipelines with long lengths and large temperature differences
1. Compensate for the displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction of pipes (low frequency, high amplitude), thereby reducing pipe expansion stress. 2. Compensate for the displacement caused by equipment vibration (high frequency, low amplitude), thereby reducing the vibration stress on the equipment.
For large-diameter, high-temperature pipes, when stress limits are not met and natural compensation is insufficient, expansion joints or similar devices are used. Generally, try not to add it if possible; it represents a weak point in the pipe, prone to corrosion, leaks, and other issues.
