Temperature connected to the servo level gauge

Hello everyone, I work in storage and transportation. The liquid level in the storage and transportation tank area is measured by a servo, but the temperature inside the tank is measured by a thermistor, and the temperature variation of this thermistor is powered by a servo. I’m facing a problem now: the instruments need to be put into use after the tank is repaired. The temperature shows the highest value, but in reality it is not. I heard in the class that there needs to be a liquid level inside the tank; only when the servo detects this level can it provide a temperature reading. What is the reason for this? Without a liquid level, there is also no liquid phase temperature, and an error will definitely be reported. Once the liquid level reaches a level above the configured temperature threshold, then a temperature will be detected
