I have a question for everyone: in practice, the negative terminal of a DC power supply and ground are separate and not connected to each other; both are at 0V. What impact does the negative terminal of a DC24V power supply have on ground, and how significant is this impact? Please discuss this

The negative terminal of the 24V DC power supply is not grounded; it can only be said that the positive terminal is 24V relative to the negative terminal. Only when the negative terminal is grounded can it be said that it is 24V with respect to the ground (and also with respect to the negative terminal).
The 24V negative terminal serves as the ground point; this ground must be connected to earth. Otherwise, the 24V negative terminal may not be at 0 volts, resulting in a floating voltage that can cause unexpected interference.

The negative terminal of 24VDC is left floating; if the negative terminal of the solenoid valve at the site is \"accidentally grounded\", wouldn’t that cause the fuse to blow? Going a step further, if any point in the floating system/circuit is accidentally grounded, wouldn’t that kill the 24V DC supply?
May I ask again, what will happen if the negative terminal is shorted to the ground?
The negative terminal of the 24V power supply should be connected to the ground. The connection received at the protection unit is incorrect. Between the working area and the protection area, a potential voltage difference may exist due to differences in the grounding conditions.
You need to check the grounding specifications and follow them.

The 24V power supply in our on-site IO cabinet has a positive terminal at 48V with respect to ground, and a negative terminal at 24V with respect to ground. How can this be?
