Questions about frequency converters?

Our plant uses high-pressure slurry pumps equipped with ABB frequency converters of the ACS800 series. Recently, a phenomenon has occurred: the DCS and on-site speed meters show the value at the upper limit, while the frequency converter indicates normal operation (intermittently). The motor is equipped with an encoder that works in conjunction with an inverter to achieve closed-loop speed measurement. Upon inspection, no obvious faults were found; the problem is suspected to lie with the encoder. However, when it was replaced and used on another machine, it worked properly. Could experts please provide an analysis?
