Why is the outlet valve of the single-unit feed pump (caged pump) in my unit always open? Senior colleagues, could you explain why this is the case? (For normal pump operation, the pump is started first, and then the valve is opened.)
Our approach here: Process: tank – cut-off valve – filter – pump – check valve – (valve) – polymerization cut-off valve – storage tank. The valves here are open to facilitate handling during the vaporization of vinyl chloride and to make it easier to start the pumps;

With program automation, the outlet valve does not open, there is no flow, and the program cannot proceed.
Start the pump first and then open the valve; this is the proper way to operate it. You can think about why this is done! What was said upstairs is correct – it’s necessary to prevent a lack of monomer inside the pump, as well as cavitation, which can damage the pump. As long as there is something inside the pipeline to ensure the pump operates properly, that’s enough! So it is also necessary to check whether the pump’s installation on-site meets the startup requirements! !
