The workshop is equipped with five screw-type chiller units, all of which use YKK500-2 type high-voltage three-phase asynchronous motors; two of these units have a power rating of 600 KW, while the three others have a power rating of 630 KW. This model of motor uses end-cap type spherical sliding bearings on both the front and rear shafts, with oil ring self-lubrication as the lubrication method. The unit is set with an alarm temperature of 85°C for the front and rear axles, and a shutdown temperature of 90°C. With an external fan currently used for cooling, the temperatures of the motor’s front and rear shafts remain at around 83–87°C. With the high temperatures and heavy production workload at the moment, this hidden risk associated with the motors is causing me a lot of concern. So I would like to ask everyone, are there any good methods to effectively reduce bearing temperature?
Solution I’ve seen: The bearings are self-lubricating with oil rings, and an additional pipeline for forced oil supply is installed to the bearing housing; a pressure of 0.1 MPa is sufficient to ensure lubricant circulation and prevent the temperature from rising too high. The premise is: does the device driven by this motor have an oil supply station?
The device has its own oil circulation system, but the motor does not. I consulted the manufacturer regarding the idea of setting up separate oil stations for several motors, and the manufacturer also came up with a plan. But the pricing is very high. From a personal perspective, on the one hand, the price is too high ; The situation of high temperature occurs only in summer; it is normal in all other seasons ; Thirdly, the entire construction process requires machine shutdown, which will affect production to a certain extent under the current operating conditions
Your motor? Is the lubricant for screw compressors always 46#? If so, it can be shared; there’s no need to set up a separate motor oil station.
Remove the bearing and check the clearance between the bearing shells; increase this clearance slightly if it is within the acceptable range. It is essential to keep the clearance under control and ensure that it does not exceed the specified limits.
Can refrigeration oil and turbine oil be used together?

Basically, it remains high every summer, requiring an external fan for cooling. According to the data, compared with the same period last year, the average temperature of those several units has increased by about 2–3°C.
