I’ve never dealt with this before; the company purchased it from a small manufacturer. As the person responsible for its maintenance in the future, I’m quite worried, so I want to check whether it works or not before it’s installed, so that it will be easier to carry out maintenance later on. By the way, how does this device work via capacitance detection? Is it necessary to have contact with the material? Does it give an alarm when the liquid level touches the detection rod, or is it the change in the air capacitance inside the tank at a certain liquid level that triggers the alarm? The instructions are completely incomprehensible; there aren’t even any pictures. I need an expert to help me.
Principle: The level switch consists of a sensor unit and an electronic unit. The sensor unit mainly consists of three parts: the measuring probe, the shielding electrode, and the ground terminal. The height of the material is reflected in the change in impedance between the probe and the container wall; when the material reaches the operating point of the switch, the electronic unit responds by activating the relay, thereby generating a switch signal. The shield electrode prevents false activation signals caused by residue on the electrodes, and the switch control signal is output only when the material actually reaches the set point. By contact chat, do you mean normal communication, or is it such a high level of activity that it triggers an alarm? This is related to its sensitivity. You can contact the manufacturer for further steps. This thing generally doesn’t break easily.

Since no one told me, I tried to figure it out on my own. Since it doesn’t have a side level sensor and only provides an alarm, I placed it flat after connecting it to a 24V power supply; at that time the light was red indicating no material present. Then, using a glove (using my hand didn’t work – I don’t know why; maybe some expert can explain this), I slowly moved it closer until it made contact with the metal rod below, at which point the light turned green. Then I adjusted the sensitivity and response delay according to the instructions, and it was successful in both cases. Verification completed. Let’s just leave it at that
Why wear gloves? Just touching the measurement electrode with bare hands will trigger an action!

I tried touching it with bare hands, as well as holding it without touching it, but there was no change. I don’t know why. I’m also wondering why it’s called radio frequency – what exactly is being radiated? If there are waves being emitted, then changes should occur even without any contact, so why do changes only happen when in contact?
