Dear experts: I would like to ask – for a production process that yields 500,000 tons of soda ash and 500,000 tons of ammonium chloride using the double-salt process, what is the approximate production cost per ton of soda ash or ammonium chloride?
First, we need to ask what the cost of producing ammonia is!
I have no idea, not even roughly, what specific materials are used
Currently, due to the significant drop in coal prices, the cost per two tons for soda ash is around 1600; those with lower quality products see costs that don’t exceed 1800.
Okay, thank you. The cost for two tons is between 1,600 and 1,800 yuan
A proper budget can only be determined based on the company’s supply of raw materials and its organizational structure; if the supply comes from within the industry chain, the cost can be as low as around 1500;

Currently, ammonium chloride is sold at over 450 yuan per ton, while soda ash is priced at over 1400 yuan per ton; the profit per two tons is around 350 yuan. An annual production of 500,000 tons generates a profit of 170 million yuan. The entry barriers for producing alkali salts are not high either; achieving such annual profits is quite remarkable.
450 for ammonium chloride is fine; but it’s rare to find soda ash sold at 1400, right?
The price for two tons is more or less this amount these days
