How is the design temperature for the main pipe determined? 2: How is the design temperature of the other branches of the vent main determined? The main torch pipe is generally designed for 350°C; higher temperatures require a different material

The design temperature depends on the medium involved, as well as the temperature after discharge; in cases of large pressure differences, low temperatures may occur. One can’t just focus on high temperatures. Referring to the unknown conditions of various branch pipes in the main pipe: How is the design temperature of the other branch pipes connected to the drain main pipe determined? The design temperature takes into account the location and conditions of each branch pipe; for example, the discharge temperature in areas near the flare is 300 degrees, while it is only 200 degrees in more distant areas. Therefore, there is no need to set the design temperature at 300 degrees in those distant areas. This depends on factors such as the discharge conditions and the flow direction of the medium – just my personal opinion
The temperature of the branch pipe should be related to the temperature at the discharge point, such as the outlet of the safety valve.
The maximum temperature of the medium entering the flare header should be considered, and a margin can be added to this temperature. As for the design temperature of the branch pipes, it may be higher or lower than that of the main pipe; in such cases, it is necessary to ensure that the material of the branch pipes is the same as that of the main pipe, so as to meet the requirement of having the same design temperature as the main pipe over a short period of time.
