Is the state of H2O the same for complete combustion and thorough combustion?
For water, the heat released when 1 mole of a combustible substance burns completely to produce liquid water can be considered the heat of combustion; gas-phase water cannot.
Complete combustion means that H turns into H2O; as for the phase state, it depends on whether high-heating-value or low-heating-value data is used. Liquid water is high-grade heat.
The standard state specifies that water is in liquid form! As for the higher heating value (HHV) and the lower heating value (LHV), they are two different concepts; be careful not to confuse them!
Why does it seem like you’re not answering the question?
It’s clear that what they said is correct; it’s easy to find information in books as well. Responses like the one from above still get rated positively. . .
