I would like to ask fellow sailors: when sulfiding the catalysts in a hydrogenation unit, how is the amount of sulfiding agent used determined?
Generally, the catalyst manufacturers will already have done the calculations for it😁
It is calculated based on the amount of sulfur required for the complete sulfidation of all the active metals in the catalyst, with an additional margin added. Since catalyst manufacturers keep the content of active metals in their catalysts confidential, this value is usually provided by the manufacturer itself.
It should be calculated directly by the catalyst manufacturer.
The manufacturer will state in the catalyst usage manual that 25% of the total amount of catalyst should be sufficient
The catalyst we use is from the Fushun Research Institute, and the amount of sulfurizing machine used is provided by the Fushun Research Institute
What is the production capacity of your facility? What is the sulfurization dose?
You don’t need to worry about this; the catalyst manufacturer will calculate it. They provide guidance throughout the vulcanization process, after all, you’ve paid for their services.
Generally, the sulfiding amount can be calculated based on the reaction equation between the catalyst and the sulfiding agent, with an appropriate margin considered!
They are all provided by the catalyst manufacturers, who will provide guidance throughout the pre-vulcanization process
Based on the actual amount of catalyst loaded, calculate the required amount of vulcanizing agent, and then multiply that by approximately 1.5 to determine the amount you should prepare.
