Does anyone know whether diisopropyl ether is corrosive to carbon steel storage tanks?
No severe corrosion occurs in the absence of oxygen.
The tank is sealed with N2, so corrosion should not occur in theory. However, based on the deposits on the impeller of the transfer pump, it is corrosion-induced scaling. The pump is made of stainless steel
