Setting of safety valves on pressure vessels

Dear Haiyou, I have a question: why are two sets of safety valves with different setting pressures typically installed on pressure vessels? What are the advantages of this approach? Can’t safety valves with the same setting pressure be used instead?

We only do this on the steam drum. The one with lower pressure is called the \"control safety valve\", while the one with higher pressure is called the \"service safety valve\".
The same set pressure is referred to as the one-primary-one-redundant setup method, while different set pressures are called the one-primary-one-secondary setup method
