What are the reasons for the short service life of the upper and lower valves of the ash lock in coal pulverization pressurized gasification?
The service life of ash lock valves is short. Factors that affect their lifespan include whether the quality of the valves is reliable, whether ash forms caking, or if high furnace temperatures cause clumping, as well as whether the frequency of valve opening and closing is too high.
The operating conditions for the gray-lock upper valve are relatively harsh, with high temperatures and pressures, and the medium consists of ash particles.
Generally, such slag locking valves use hard seals, and the main factor affecting the valve’s lifespan is its sealing surface. Under high temperature and pressure conditions, the presence of ash and slag particles in the medium can easily lead to accelerated wear of the wear-resistant coating on the sealing surfaces. The material of the valve ball also needs to be taken into consideration; otherwise, after too many openings and closings, the ball may deform, leading to sticking during operation, and forced opening and closing will further accelerate wear on the valve body.
Frequent start-stop cycles, wear and tear, harsh operating conditions
Gray-lock valves have a short service life; one reason is coking caused by excessively high local furnace temperatures, which leads to frequent operation of the valve during slag discharge, and the other factor is related to the quality of the valve.
