The liquid level in the water ring pump keeps dropping, and water needs to be added every hour. What is the reason for this?
Since most water ring vacuum pumps are of self-priming design, this means that once the water ring is formed inside the vacuum pump, no pressure is required to supply water, as it can prime itself. But before a water ring is formed, we need to supply water to it so that a water ring can be created. Maintaining the water level inside the separator is necessary so that the vacuum pump has enough water to keep operating (that is, to form a water ring); an excessive water level affects the pumping capacity of the vacuum pump. If the water level is too low, a water ring cannot be formed, and thus no vacuum can be created. By maintaining an adequate level of fluid, you can check the operating condition; you can also shut down the system and reset the liquid level so that the liquid ring can function properly during startup.
Check the liquid separator at the pump outlet to see if there is liquid in the exhaust gas. Are there any leaks at other sealing points?
Also, pay attention to the operating temperature; otherwise, without a water level relief device, adding liquid until it reaches the upper limit will cause it to overflow, which also serves to cool down the system.
