At the site, the two long-shaft submersible pumps would produce unusual noises after operating normally for about ten minutes, experience a significant increase in vibration, and then stop working. After restarting, the same situation occurred: abnormal noises appeared and the pump stopped working after running for some time. I would like to ask everyone what inferences they have regarding this phenomenon.
It’s likely that the position of the shaft wasn’t adjusted properly, resulting in friction and causing the vehicle to jump out
It’s possible that the filter at the bottom is clogged; There might be a problem with the bottom bearing
Problems of this kind are mainly caused by bearing wear and shaft wear; uneven vibration of the shaft can easily lead to a chain reaction that results in shutdown.
With vibration and process interlock? Or overload protection? If there is vibration or overload, it’s better to disassemble and inspect it; the bearings might not be properly lubricated ; If possible, it is recommended to use a self-priming pump, as it is easier to maintain and repair
The reason for the pump coming off its mount was the activation of the overload protection. It is recommended that you carry out the following checks: 1. Lift the pump out and inspect the lower and middle bearings; in most cases, it is wear of the bushings that causes a loss of radial alignment under load, resulting in vibration and abnormal noises. 2. It is unknown what the medium is; if it is oil, the pump should generally not have any problems. Regular inspections should be carried out, and any issues detected must be addressed promptly.
Check the liquid level; make sure it’s not empty and causing cavitation! We had two submersible pumps that got damaged due to frequent emptying; after strictly controlling the liquid level, things improved a lot!
