Question: When transferring liquid using a pump, can liquid be poured into the receiving tank at the same time as liquid is being poured out of the source tank?
I was wrong; can the receiving tank accept liquid while also taking in the liquid poured out from the pouring tank?
This should work; it’s equivalent to two feed streams, as long as the two do not affect each other.
It is generally not allowed to do this. There are two types of tank transfer: one is done using a compressor, and the other is done using a hydrocarbon pump. The operating procedures for these two methods differ; for transfer using a compressor, it is necessary to connect both the gas phase valve and the liquid phase valve at the same time. . . The operation process also needs to be monitored at all times to avoid accidents. While you are pouring the liquid out, you are still adding liquid in – where does that liquid come from?
