A common issue in the maintenance of paver hydraulic pumps is overheating of the hydraulic oil. Many people have encountered this problem: the paver does not operate properly, its efficiency is low, which prevents the project from being completed on time and causes delays in subsequent work. Therefore, for pavers, the maintenance of hydraulic pumps is very important. During the repair of the hydraulic pump in a paver, excessive oil temperature in the paver’s hydraulic system reduces the viscosity of the oil, increases leakage, and damages the oil film in the areas that need lubrication, thereby accelerating wear on the components ; At the same time, high temperatures can also cause gaskets made of materials such as rubber to age prematurely and become damaged. Therefore, it is very important to control the oil temperature appropriately. When the oil temperature is too high, the machine must be stopped for inspection. The inspection steps can be divided into the following points: First, check whether the oil level in the tank is too low. Experience shows that a high oil temperature is often caused by a lack of oil in the tank; therefore, the oil should be replenished promptly when this occurs. Second: Check whether the hydraulic oil filter and circuits are clogged in the paver. Third: Verify whether the radiator is functioning properly; if a large amount of dust accumulates on the radiator, it can lead to poor heat dissipation and an increase in oil temperature. Due to the high level of dust in the working environment of the paver, the radiator needs to be cleaned regularly. Fourth: Check whether the quality of the hydraulic oil is satisfactory; if the quality of the oil used is poor, it can also lead to excessively high oil temperatures in the system. For heavy construction machinery such as pavers, the hydraulic system is an essential and irreplaceable component. When there are problems with the hydraulic pump, it is necessary to repair it promptly; one should not try to keep using it despite the issues, as this will only make the problems worse and eventually lead to the failure of the hydraulic pump or the collapse of the hydraulic system.
