I would like to ask the experts: is there a specific lifespan for boilers? Our facility uses a 10 T/H gas steam boiler that runs on natural gas.

In the calculation of boiler strength, the corrosion allowance is taken as the amount of thinning due to corrosion over 100,000 operating hours, which represents the design life of the boiler. The actual service life is determined by local boiler inspection agencies, which measure the wall thickness and then decide whether the boiler can continue to be used.
There are no requirements for large-scale units; it’s just specified in the project that the faulty parts should be repaired, rather than the entire unit being discarded. A 10T/H gas steam boiler can last around 20 years; with some repairs, it can go another 5 years. The reason is that the thermal pipelines of the boiler have a service life of 25 years, and further repairs become uneconomical – it’s better to replace the entire boiler. However, the service life of Class D boilers cannot exceed 8 years.
