Can frequently using an F wrench to close a butterfly valve cause internal leakage?
Using force may cause the seal to break; it depends on how much force you use
When the butterfly valve is closed, there is a limit set screw inside its worm gear (which can be seen from the outside of the valve body); under normal conditions, it cannot be closed any further.
With some assistance, our mechanics can break the bolts of the M32; a F wrench will be needed, and it’s likely that the valve will also get damaged in the process
Therefore, it is recommended to use an F wrench when the valve cannot be opened; to close it, simply use your hand
If a butterfly valve is often operated using an F-panel switch, it’s likely that there is a problem with the valve.
I’m worried that the drive gears might get damaged before the gasket inside the valve fails. Keep it moderate when closing; if it feels tight, don’t force it to close.
In fact, whenever any type of valve is closed too tightly, the sealing surface will inevitably be damaged, which in turn leads to internal leakage. The drive box of butterfly valves is particularly prone to damage~~
