Hello everyone, I’d like to ask what’s causing this issue. Could you help analyze it? Thank you. The utility ducts in my facility run around the entire factory area, and I hear sounds of metal deformation 1–3 times a day; these sounds are quite loud. It also made noise after it rained yesterday. Is this caused by thermal expansion and contraction due to temperature changes? Is it the sound caused by the pipes? Is it still pipe deformation caused by the contraction of the duct support? Everyone, please help analyze it. Thanks!
I wonder if it’s water hammer? It is caused by the condensation water in the pipes not being drained in time; in other words, it’s a type of vibration. You can try increasing the water delivery points in the pipes
Unless there are large temperature changes in the medium inside the pipeline, a temperature difference of a few degrees in the surrounding environment should not cause significant deformation. It could be the sound of water hammer; this is caused by water in the steam pipeline not being able to drain properly or by the valves in the pipeline operating too quickly. Listen to where the sound comes from: if it comes from the support or fixing frames, it might be due to deformation; if it comes from the bends in the pipeline, then it’s likely caused by water hammer
Inspect along the pipeline to check for any friction or deformation of the pipes against the walkway framework~~
There are circulating water pipes in the ductwork; if gas is present inside the pipes and the equipment operates for a long time, it should return to the water cooling tower, and ultimately the gas will be expelled. This phenomenon has been going on for some time now
The equipment has been shut down in recent days, and the circulating water supply is also stopped. The pipe rack still makes two noises at irregular times throughout the day. Is there any way to identify the source of these noises?
Check the drawings to see if the mounting brackets were installed according to the specifications.

I think water hammer is the most likely! You can look for suitable places to add a few more drainage points.
