For deep well pumps, model 70-16: installation height is 28.5, and the pressure is 42 N. It worked fine before – the shaft rotated easily. Now, after installation, there is a feeling of stickiness when trying to rotate the shaft by hand; there is resistance. It’s not due to excessive pressure, but rather a sense of sticking. I earnestly ask those who know more about this issue to help figure out what’s going on – could it be that the ceramic and graphite components are attracting each other as a result of being in contact? Are there any issues that these guys haven’t realized? If any experts can help solve this problem, I’ll reward them with RMB – I definitely won’t go back on my word
Deep well pumps work well with mechanical seals, which mainly rely on packing. This is because well water contains sediment, and due to the large depth at which these pumps operate, the deflection of the rotor makes it difficult to meet the requirements for installing mechanical seals. I suspect there is a problem with the rotor lift amount control, or it could be friction between the shaft and the water-lubricated guide bearings.

It would be sufficient to replace it with a mechanical seal from another brand. We suspect that there was a problem with the mold used during installation, which resulted in the installation surface not being level enough. The installer mentioned that the sense of lag decreases after rotating it for some time after plugging it in – could it be that friction caused the graphite to wear down and thus level the surface? The compression amount of these two mechanical seals should be different; their sizes are not interchangeable. It has nothing to do with the material of the stationary and rotating rings.
