At present, the implementation of safety management in construction sites by construction companies is inadequate, and there are various reasons for this: 1) poor quality of workers; 2) pressure to meet deadlines on site, which leads to compromises regarding safe and civilized construction practices; 3) project managers do not give enough attention to safety matters and fail to provide sufficient support to safety officers; 4) insufficient investment in safety and civilized construction measures, with inadequate facilities; 5) problems in enforcing safety management regulations and implementing reward and punishment systems. Please discuss how to improve safety and civilized construction management at sites (given the current situation in domestic construction management) in order to prevent problems from arising during construction.

In my opinion, the most important issues are: 1. The contractors are eager for quick results and reduce or even eliminate some safety measures in order to save money. 2. Workers lack a strong safety awareness; although they are aware of the dangers associated with chemical engineering construction, they are not entirely clear about where those dangers lie. How many percent of the workers have received WSH training?
What needs to be done is to raise employees’ safety awareness, ensure that everyone participates in safe working practices, and reject any work that is unsafe.
One word: money. With enough money, everything can be done properly ； To save costs, money is cut in certain areas, thereby achieving a balance between expenses and construction quality.
When the construction team arrives on site, it is recommended to pay a deposit as a fee for safe and orderly construction; in case of any violations, this amount will be deducted from it, and it will be refunded once the work is completely completed.
Improve systems, standardize management, and assign dedicated personnel to oversee implementation.
To be honest, the overall quality of the workers working on construction these days is really low. Not to mention anything else, there are temporary toilets right outside the site, but they don’t use them and instead relieve themselves anywhere on the site.
