That’s indeed the case; cationic polyacrylamide is relatively easy to hydrolyze. Under normal circumstances, the effectiveness will decline after using it the next day. Polyacrylamide is in a state of hydrolysis constantly; the longer it is left untreated, the greater the degree of hydrolysis, and the worse its performance becomes. The effect deteriorates significantly after being left for one or two days, requiring an increase in the amount used – it is generally better to use it up on the same day. Therefore, cationic polypropylene is generally best used immediately after preparation, with a maximum storage time of about one week.
