As the title suggests, in the installation of the mesh in gas-liquid separators, it is stated that Monel mesh cannot be used inside aluminum containers； Aluminum wire mesh cannot be used in steel containers in the presence of water droplets. I don’t quite understand, why?

I have a doubt regarding the water resistance of aluminum. The handle of a Swiss Army knife is likely made of aluminum, and when it is placed in a humid environment such as a bathroom where it is often exposed to water, over time this layer of aluminum can separate and get damaged.
It is very likely due to electrochemical corrosion; this needs to be verified
