How is superheated steam formed, and what is its thermodynamic process? Under what circumstances is superheated steam used in industry? Thank you.
Superheated steam is formed either by reheating saturated steam or by reducing the pressure of steam.

The temperature of steam does not increase as it moves from unsaturated to wet-saturated to dry-saturated states (the temperature remains constant during the transition from wet-saturated to dry-saturated state); however, when heating continues after reaching the dry-saturated state, the temperature rises, resulting in superheated steam. ②Industrial applications: Superheated steam is rarely used in the heat transfer processes of industrial manufacturing, as it must first be cooled to its saturation temperature before it can condense and release its latent heat of vaporization. Obviously, the amount of heat released when superheated steam is cooled to saturation temperature is much smaller compared to that of saturated steam, which in turn leads to an increase in equipment size and a reduction in the efficiency of the manufacturing process. Currently, it is mainly used in the food processing and drying industries. Using superheated steam for cooking and food processing offers significant advantages such as uniform heating of the food, fast heating speed, improved taste of the food, and prevention of vitamin loss.
