The saturated vapor pressure of water at the operating temperature is determined; the total operating pressure minus this saturated vapor pressure gives the partial pressure of the dry gas. The total amount of wet gas is then calculated based on the flow rate of the dry gas. From this, the water vapor content can be determined.
The determination of whether it is dry gas or wet gas is based on the previous treatment process; normal coke oven gas should contain water.
The data used for analysis is on a dry basis. The moisture content in coke oven gas is essentially saturated; it is calculated based on the temperature at the compressor inlet (30–40). We use a moisture content of 4.0113%, which means that the other components account for 95.9887%. Multiplying the dry-basis components by 95.9887% gives the proportion of each component on a wet basis
