A+K isn’t as impressive as some manufacturers claim; at its core it remains a differential pressure type throttling device, with only a few advantages over standard orifice plates. The main advantages are reduced requirements for the length of the straight sections before and after the device (due to the streamlining effect of the porous structure), as well as lower pressure losses. It should be noted, however, that internationally only three types of flowmeters are recognized as standard ones: standard orifice plates, standard venturi meters, and standard nozzles. These three types of flow meter devices do not require calibration, while other flow meters, no matter how well they are advertised to be, need to be calibrated. Moreover, the so-called high precision refers only to the sensor itself (as stated in the manufacturer’s specifications); as part of an overall flow measurement system, precision denotes the systematic uncertainty, and it does not refer solely to one sensor. Many manufacturers deliberately mislead in their product promotions, confusing the so-called accuracy of sensors with systematic uncertainty. This is something that everyone must carefully evaluate. In short, if you choose A+K, it is reliable to opt for a domestic manufacturer of flow meters that specializes in the production of throttling devices. There’s nothing mysterious about it.
