I have seen similar non-return stripping towers, gas stripping towers. Stirred tanks also come with reflux.
A tower without reflux is not a distillation tower; as for what type of tower it might be, there are many possibilities. It could also be a tower with internal reflux – you just haven’t noticed it. Many washing towers do not have reflux
It is similar to a distillation tower, but there are also different classifications; in some cases, the material is distilled directly under normal pressure or reduced pressure to remove solids and substances with high boiling points. There are those that switch based on different boiling points and ranges (at atmospheric pressure, under reduced pressure). There are those with stripping, and those with internal recirculation.
There’s something wrong with what you’re saying! A distillation column has at least a top cold reflux and a bottom reboiler; the feed is generally introduced at the middle or lower part of the column!

What if we only focus on the product at the bottom of the tower and ignore the product at the top?
