What material is generally used for gaskets on low-temperature flanges? Is PTFE used? I’ve seen that PTFE can withstand temperatures around -190 degrees; are there materials that can tolerate even lower temperatures? Are there any other types of gaskets, such as wound gaskets?
Wrapped gaskets can be used, with PTFE Sigma as the filling material; it can withstand low temperatures down to -200°C.
As for users, high-quality PTFE sheets or PTFE-stainless steel wound gaskets are generally used, and both yield good results; one is used for low pressure applications while the other is used for medium to high pressure applications!
Stop using PTFE. I went to a factory and learned about their operation procedures; they used PTFE gaskets there. Perhaps the tightening for cold and hot conditions wasn’t done properly, which caused leaks in various valves. We use wound gaskets instead

It is better to use gasketing, as tetrafluoroethylene is prone to leakage.
