There are a wide variety of lifting machinery, and the regular inspection standards for different types of such machinery also vary. Let’s take a look at this in detail. Those that are inspected once a year include tower cranes, elevators, mobile cranes, and cranes used for handling molten and hot metals. Equipment that requires inspection every two years includes light and small lifting equipment, bridge cranes, gantry cranes, portal cranes, cable cranes, jib cranes, railway cranes, swing arm cranes, and mechanical parking systems. Performance tests of cranes, such as tests on rated load, static load, and dynamic load, are required to be conducted during the first inspection and the first periodic inspection. During inspections, if serious safety hazards are found in the lifting machinery, they must be reported immediately to the provincial quality and technical supervision department. With its consent, the interval between regular inspections can be shortened depending on the circumstances; however, according to the regulations, the minimum interval shall not exceed 6 months.
