In a circulating fluidized bed boiler or a waste heat recovery boiler, if there is a sudden power outage due to reasons such as thunderstorms during operation, and power cannot be restored in time, is there any way to ensure that the boiler drum does not dry out? :(:(:(:(

1. It is possible to quickly suppress the fire; measures should be taken to maintain heat and pressure. If pressure does not rise excessively, try not to use the drain and vent systems. Assign someone to monitor the water level in the steam drum on site. Once power is restored and water can be pumped out, the feed pump can be started immediately to restore normal operation gradually. 2. If the power outage lasts too long, the drum cannot be drained of water; it can only be cooled naturally before water can be added.
For the equipment that cannot be shut down arbitrarily at this time, our factory requires that whatever water can be used to add is acceptable – desalinated water or fresh water both work. Well, we just added spare desalinated water to one of the waste heat boilers.
The main problem is that all the water pumps stop working when there is a power outage, preventing water from being fed into the boiler drum.
I obtained additional information about boilers; to prevent misleading those who search later (especially since the answer given on the first floor is completely wrong – closing the main steam valve causes a sharp increase in pressure in the boiler drum, which in turn triggers the safety valve to open, and the liquid level in the drum cannot be maintained). Boilers must be equipped with emergency pumps to avoid situations where the drum runs dry, leading to tube ruptures or explosions. Small boilers use steam reciprocating pumps, while larger boilers use diesel multi-stage pumps. The emergency pumps must be started immediately in case of a power outage! The specific procedures shall be in accordance with the boiler operator’s manual, which constitutes the main content of the boiler power outage drill.
