The tank is 4.8 meters tall. To measure the temperature of the medium inside, what should be done when the liquid level is low? Is there a thermometer long enough for this purpose? Can it be set up in this way?
The length of the thermometer can be customized; that’s not a problem. The issue is that it’s inconvenient to read the temperature, unless a remote transmission system is used. It is entirely possible to install a thermometer on the flange of the spare port at the bottom.

There is something called a multi-point thermometer: it has multiple temperature measurement points on a single rod, and it must be installed from the top. I once used a thermometer that was 5 meters long and had 5 sensing points. It’s a real hassle every time you have to remove it.
Use a thermistor; choose the length as desired, and pair it with a temperature transmitter for display.
Does it have to be installed on the top of the tank? Can’t change the location? I’ve done a similar task before; the tank wasn’t as large as yours – it was smaller, about a meter or so in length. There were deposits in it, and the manager insisted on knowing the temperature at the bottom of the tank. The temperature readings taken with a thermometer weren’t acceptable to the manager. It’s considered a small pressure vessel; all the procedures related to creating new openings are too complicated, and I don’t have probes long enough for that purpose. Finally, a surface port was removed from the top of the tank, using a pressure tapping hole at the surface level ; Find a 1/4 inch thermocouple, attach a 1/4 to 3/8 inch adapter to it, then connect a 1-meter-long 3/8 inch instrumentation tube; pass the compensation wire through the tube and then insert it into the pressure tapping hole, tightening the adapter to seal it off ; Grab a temperature sensor and take it to the site for the manager to see.
