In the diesel hydrogenation unit, there is a interlock logic that allows for manual shutdown of the air cooler. I would like to ask why air cooling needs to be stopped in the event of an accident – what are the considerations behind this?
What type of air cooling is being stopped – the high-pressure air cooling at the outlet of the high-temperature section? We don’t have such interlocks here, but if you explain the problem in detail, I can help you out as a reference
We have air cooling for cold high-pressure systems, air cooling for diesel product systems, and also air cooling for the reflux at the split tower top. In total, there are these three types of air cooling units. It seems that in terms of the control logic, a manual emergency stop function is available in all cases
Cold high-temperature air cooling? What are the inlet and outlet temperatures of the air cooling system? Is there no air cooling for the hot high-pressure section? Was it a shutdown due to an accident in the hot high-pressure section, which led to a sequential shutdown of the entire system?
Air-cooled interlocks are generally not installed in ordinary enterprises; some design institutes do include them in their designs. In fact, such interlocks are rarely used, as they are meant to facilitate operations in the control room
