On the inhibition of anaerobic reactions

When the partial pressure of hydrogen is high, it inhibits the hydrogen and acetate production reactions. So at such high pressures, do the bacteria responsible for hydrogen and acetate production stop working, or do they produce other substances? (For example, sugars produce water and carbon dioxide under aerobic conditions, and lactic acid under anaerobic conditions.) Also, in hydrolysis-acidification tanks, doesn’t the accumulation of acidic products inhibit this process? Or do other substances form when the acid accumulates to a certain amount? Or, as the effluent carries away acid, but considering that the amount of acid that can be carried away by the effluent is limited after all, an equilibrium is ultimately reached.
The amount of acid carried away with the effluent is still relatively high; if significant suppression occurs, could some alkali be added?
Generally, during hydrolysis and acidification, the accumulation of acids produced has a certain impact on microorganisms. However, there is also something in water known as total alkalinity, which can buffer the pH imbalance caused by acid accumulation, while the flow of water carries the decomposition products to the next stage of treatment.
