If you replace your computer, do you still have an optical drive?
It should be paired, right? There’s a bunch of old VCD and DVD discs at home.
A burning optical drive might come in handy; it can be used to create discs for old car stereos that don’t have a USB port. It can also be used to view old discs, as mentioned above. It’s generally not needed for installing operating systems these days, as flash drives are used for that purpose. I can think of no other uses for it; I don’t see any need to install anything on it
I need it; whether I reinstall the system or install some software, I still need a optical drive.

I didn’t install it at first; later, when I needed to use the system, watch DVDs, or view wedding photos – there were many tasks that required a optical drive, so I had to use my laptop for those purposes. It is recommended to bring a CD drive (preferably a burning CD drive). Although its role is diminishing, it is still sometimes irreplaceable. Hehe, as for those in laptops, new laptops should come with them, right?
