On the applicability of self-cleaning air filters

We currently have 2D12 piston compressors, and in order to improve the quality of the air entering them, we are considering using self-cleaning air filters. We would like to know whether this is feasible, and whether the suction characteristics of piston compressors have any impact on the filters
It seems they aren’t in use; from what I’ve seen, self-cleaning filters are mainly used at the inlet of centrifugal fans (with a flow rate of 170,000 cubic feet per hour), air screw compressors, and centrifugal compressors. I haven’t seen them used on reciprocating machines.
