I was a freshman at that time, and it was the first New Year’s dinner party. Our class consisted of freshmen, and everyone was very enthusiastic. By dividing the tasks and working together, we decorated the classroom to give it a New Year’s atmosphere: fresh flowers (plastic ones), ribbons, balloons, and flashlights (made using a relay, a 200-watt bulb, and a homemade colored light box; our major is automation). We also got various delicacies from the cafeteria, with roasted lamb legs and smoked rabbits being the most memorable. In addition, the cafeteria staff provided us with plain flour and fillings for dumplings, which each class used to make their own dumplings. . . . I found time to go around to the various classes, and I noticed that only our class was busy; there was no activity in the sophomore, junior, or senior classes, which seemed strange to me as well. . . . . . . Around 5 o’clock, once the dumplings were ready, they were put into the pot. When the hot dumplings came out of the pot, a group of regular customers arrived with their lunch boxes, saying they wanted to try them. They ate up almost half of them, and we were quite happy too (there were enough dumplings). . . . . . When we gathered for the meal the following year, our class was still full of enthusiasm, as there were a lot of food lovers, including me. . . . . .
That’s great~~ We’re going to a rental house to eat; we’ll buy dumpling wrappers and fillings, wrap the dumplings, then cook them. There will also be people playing mahjong, poker, singing, and cooking. . It’s going to be lively~
I usually organize trips around November. For about 4 years, I spent time in various farmhouses near a scenic area. We cooked together. It was fun to do it, and everything eaten was cold.
The food is good! During our freshman year, the university was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture. For lunch, students in each dormitory could go to the cafeteria to get food, rice, and drinks, all on the basis of tickets; dumplings had to be waited for there as well. Life was fairly good back then, though there was also a lot of waste. By my sophomore year, I wasn’t returning anymore, so there was no free lunch. Usually, on New Year’s Day each year, it takes place in school classrooms; everyone gets things ready by buying food and toys, and renting some DVDs. . .
The food at the university get-together is so good. . We usually go to restaurants for meals; we’ve only been to that one place in four years. After graduating, I received an award for being part of an excellent class group; with that prize money, I rented a temporary apartment. . .
Okay. . I hadn’t been born at that time. . .
